Nova Scotia Health (NSH) is set to host its inaugural provincial career fair on Friday, April 26, spanning 11 communities across the province. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., NSH representatives will convene in Amherst, New Glasgow, Truro, Sydney, Inverness, Antigonish, Sheet Harbour, Halifax, Bridgewater, and Yarmouth to engage with prospective candidates regarding career and volunteer prospects within the organization.
Anna Marenick, Vice President of People, Culture, and Belonging, underscored the significance of the event, stating, “All Nova Scotia Health team members and volunteers make valuable contributions to improving healthcare in unique ways.” She emphasized the fair’s role in introducing new talent to the diverse opportunities within NSH, whether in their hometown or elsewhere in the province, spanning clinical care, finance, innovation, or support services.
The fair offers attendees direct access to hiring managers, enabling them to explore how their skills align with various NSH departments and swiftly share their resumes using QR codes. Representatives from a multitude of departments and professions will be present, including IM/IT, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, Critical Care, Food & Nutrition, Administrative Professionals, Facility Management, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Diagnostic Imaging, Mental Health and Addictions, Primary Health Care, Cancer Care, Continuing Care, Medical Device Reprocessing, Volunteering, Physicians, OPOR, and Research and Innovation.
Marenick reiterated NSH’s commitment to attracting top healthcare providers, citing initiatives such as incentives, partnerships with industry to facilitate affordable housing and childcare, and robust support for professional development and career advancement opportunities. She expressed eagerness to engage with prospective candidates, emphasizing NSH’s dedication to fostering a vibrant healthcare workforce.
