TOKYO, July 1st, 2024 – FUJIFILM Corporation has announced the grand opening of a new “NURA” health screening center in Hanoi, Vietnam. This facility, focusing on cancer screening, marks the first NURA center in the South-East Asia region. The center will be managed by the VIETNAM JAPAN HEALTH TECHNOLOGY JOINT STOCK COMPANY (VJH), which also operates the T-Matsuoka Medical Center in Vietnam. Vietnam faces significant health challenges, with cancer and lifestyle diseases such as ischemic heart disease being leading causes of death. Early detection and appropriate treatment are crucial in reducing the mortality and morbidity associated with these conditions. Despite compulsory corporate health screenings, the rate in Vietnam remains low at about 3.5%, highlighting a critical need for improved screening practices.
The new NURA health screening center aims to address this gap by offering high-quality screening services. Fujifilm, leveraging its expertise from existing NURA centers, will collaborate with VJH and T-Matsuoka Medical Center to enhance healthcare delivery in Vietnam. This partnership will not only provide advanced screening services but also promote the importance of regular health checks among local hospitals and companies.
Since launching its first NURA health screening center in Bengaluru, India, in 2021, Fujifilm has expanded its operations to include four centers in India and one in Mongolia. NURA centers utilize Fujifilm’s cutting-edge medical devices, including CT scanners and mammography systems, along with AI-based medical IT systems to assist doctors in screening for cancer and lifestyle diseases. The convenience of completing all checks and receiving results within approximately 120 minutes has been a significant factor in the service’s popularity, with over 45,000 users to date.
Fujifilm’s continued investment in health screening services in emerging markets underscores its commitment to global health advancement. The company aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to an increasing number of people, promoting health maintenance and improvement worldwide.
The new NURA center in Hanoi is strategically located to serve a broad population, offering accessible and efficient health screening services. By sharing its advanced screening technology and methodologies, Fujifilm seeks to establish a strong health screening culture in Vietnam, ultimately contributing to the early detection and treatment of life-threatening conditions.
FUJIFILM Corporation, a pioneer in imaging and information technology, has been at the forefront of healthcare innovations, developing advanced diagnostic and screening technologies.
