The Australian Medical Association (AMA) is reaching out to its members to gather insights and priorities for the nation’s health. Following the launch of the Vision for Australia’s Health in 2021, which successfully addressed various challenges in general practice, public hospitals, private health, and public health, the AMA recognizes the evolving landscape of Australia’s health system.
Despite notable achievements, current issues include health workforce shortages, escalating healthcare demands, the increasing cost of healthcare provision, advancing technologies, and the ongoing repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure that future advocacy aligns with the needs of the medical community, the AMA is actively seeking input from doctors across Australia.
The survey, marking the first of numerous opportunities for AMA members to contribute to the vision, is estimated to take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Participants stand a chance to win a free ticket to AMA24, the upcoming National Conference scheduled from 2-4 August 2024 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, valued at $1,158.30 (including GST).
The insights garnered from this survey will play a pivotal role in shaping the advocacy efforts of the AMA in the coming years, influencing the next iteration of the Vision for Australia’s Health. The survey is open until 31 January 2024, and the AMA extends its gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions to shaping the future of healthcare in Australia.
