Tony’s Chocolonely, Inc. has recalled certain chocolate bars after reports of small stones being found inside the products, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Wednesday.
The company voluntarily recalled specific batches of two chocolate bar varieties: Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar. The recall comes after several customers reported finding stones in the products.
The FDA advises consumers to avoid eating the affected chocolate bars. Instead, they should return them to the store or dispose of them.
Which Chocolate Bars Are Affected?
The recall affects seven batches of two types of Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate bars: Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar (a mix of milk chocolate, caramel, pretzel, almond nougat, and sea salt).
These products were sold across the U.S. beginning in February, both in stores and online through the Tony’s Chocolonely website.
The recalled chocolate bars can be identified by the following details:

Reason for the Recall
The recall was issued after it was discovered that small stones were not removed during the almond harvesting and processing process. These stones were reportedly found in some chocolate bars after 12 customers made complaints, although the incidents occurred outside of North America.
There have been no reports of injuries related to the stones.
What to Do if You Have Affected Chocolate Bars
Tony’s Chocolonely has stated that the likelihood of injury from consuming the affected chocolate bars is low, but the company still urges customers to take caution.
If you have purchased one of the recalled chocolate bars, you can return it to the store for a full refund or exchange, or dispose of it.
For those who bought the products online, Tony’s Chocolonely offers a way to check if their chocolate is affected by visiting the company’s website, where they can also submit a refund request.
