The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have issued a stern warning to the public, advising against the purchase and consumption of Diamond Shruumz-brand Microdosing Chocolate Bars, Infused Cones, and Micro Dose and Macro Dose gummies. Officials urge consumers to discard these products immediately due to potential health risks.
Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, Chief Medical Executive for the State of Michigan, emphasized the severity of the situation. “We strongly advise individuals who have purchased these products to refrain from consuming them,” she stated. “There have been reports of various adverse health effects, including seizures, decreased consciousness, and respiratory failure.”
Additional symptoms reported include agitation, abnormal heart rates, hypertension or hypotension, nausea, and vomiting.
The FDA advises anyone experiencing these symptoms after consuming the products to seek medical attention and contact their healthcare provider. Additionally, the FDA recommends calling the Poison Help Line for further assistance.
Despite ongoing communication with the FDA regarding a potential voluntary recall, the company has yet to initiate any recall procedures.
While cases have been reported in 20 states, there are no confirmed cases in Michigan as of now.
The MDHHS and FDA continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
