The Australian Government has announced an investment of nearly $20 million aimed at commercialising digital health research projects to transform healthcare in the country. This funding comes from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
Six companies will each receive a share of $3.75 million, along with expert hands-on support, through the ANDHealth+ program to develop their commercial potential. This significant investment will help bring promising digital technologies to market, translating innovative research into practical treatments. Some of the technologies being supported include:
A brain imaging analysis platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to better monitor and manage neurological diseases such as dementia.
AI-driven medical imaging software designed to unlock personalised treatment options for individuals with cardiovascular disease.
Digital scanning technology and software to create personalised, medical-grade compression garments for therapeutic use.
The funding for these projects is part of a broader initiative, with ANDHealth receiving $19.75 million to support small to medium-sized companies in developing commercially viable technologies. This initiative falls under the MRFF’s Medical Research Commercialisation program, which aims to bridge the gap between innovative research and practical, market-ready healthcare solutions.
