JSI is honored to receive recognition from Global Health 50/50 in its 2024 report as a High Performer and Fast Riser. The report evaluates gender-related policies across 200 global health organizations, emphasizing geographic and gender disparities within governing boards. This acknowledgment underscores JSI’s steadfast dedication to fostering equality and diversity across all facets of our initiatives.
Professors Sarah Hawkes and Kent Buse, co-CEOs of Global Health 50/50, expressed their admiration: “We commend JSI’s efforts to champion equality and diversity. Their leadership serves as a beacon, inspiring progress in global health and beyond.” They highlighted JSI’s transparency and commitment, noting these as integral to achieving gender equality goals.
Jodi DiProfio, JSI’s technical director for gender, affirmed, “This recognition fuels our commitment to continuous improvement. It reflects our ongoing initiatives to enhance equality and diversity in all aspects of our work.” DiProfio emphasized JSI’s initiatives in promoting gender parity in leadership roles, implementing gender-responsive health programs, fostering inclusivity in the workplace, and advocating policy changes for global health equity.
The report marks a significant milestone with gender parity observed among board chairs and members within participating nonprofit organizations, where women now comprise 45 percent of both groups. JSI’s board reflects this commitment with 55 percent women members, nearly 45 percent of whom originate from Africa or Latin America. This diverse composition enriches JSI’s strategic insights and operational impact.
